The Life Skills Resource Center was incorporated in 1992 in response to the need for expanded programs and services in New Jersey for persons with autism spectrum disorders.  Our mission is to improve the quality of life of individuals and their families through the provision of specialized programs and services designed to increase the individual’s abilities and opportunities to participate meaningfully in the life of the community.  The Life Skills Resource Center has established as a priority the development of services for adults, including group homes and a job training center.

Much has changed in the twenty years since we began providing services in New Jersey.  The statewide system of community care is currently undergoing a major overhaul.  However, as everything changes around us, our mission and focus remain clear – to identify adults who are falling between the cracks in the system and offer them access to programs, services and supports that enhance their quality of life.
